Cards for Heros

I told you that one of the projects at work I was doing with the kids was having them make Cards for Heroes Well then I saw this post on Gina K's blog (it was the kick in the bottom I needed to get my mojo going again) and started to make some on the day we had off school for the Act of God day...then came the tooth and yea...so tonight I made the time to finish them.....

I finally used the QVC second Cosmo Cricket set (Christmas one) from August...well at least some of it.....Now being that I couldn't use glitter...I wanted to keep them simple due to a) time is limited for me lately b) they need to be blank inside so they can write inside..so these papers are so wonderful on their own..they meet my needs....I used some of the card bases and then some of the cardstock, they provided but for the sentiment I did it on the ol computer and punched them with scallop punch...

I printed the sentiment on Kraft paper then punched them..

But those who know Cosmo Cricket papers, they have this ..shabby chic style to them (that I love) so enter Tim Holtz's Old Paper Distressing Ink and you get......

Then add some ribbon on the cardstock...pop dots to the sentiment and you get.....

There you have them..using my stash(see Aunt Linda and lil sister I do use stuff) ...kids going to the Cards for Heroes and some of mine too, the others to Gina K...not so much for the prizes but I work best with deadlines..I encourage all of my scrappy/cardmaking friends to make some if you can....

Thanks for all the wonderful emails and comments about yesterday's post ...appreciate every single one...Well got to get some stuff done...3 1/2 day week at work (PT conf's Friday Morning..then afternoon off) might go and see my dad's side of the family...(Don't tell my sisters or cousins but I am their favorite *wink* even when I don't see them as much as I should or know about things that go on) so best get down there...catch you later...

  1. Good for you for using your stash! There's no better way to help support our troops overseas. I know they all appreciate it!
